I am currently working on my 3rd set of Purling London chess sets and I’m looking forward to doing a lot more. I have a soft spot for art that has multiple functions and Purling of London is a dream company to team up with to create such things.
Skulls
My first chess set and a rare excursion into using paint brushes. All skulls for this Halloween themed chess set were hand painted in addition to the paint splatters. The set was exhibited in the Clarkenwell Design Week, then moved to Harrods where it was sold.
Divine & Conquer
The temptation to paint the board was too much so my stencilled angels were introduced. Spray paint and 24kt gold leaf were used to create the controlled chaos that makes up the wooden board and handcrafted pieces.
